Fourth of July Candy Bar Essentials
It’s almost the Fourth of July and we’re especially excited about this one because it’s the first semi-normal holiday as the world recovers from COVID-19. As we brainstormed ways to make this holiday a little extra special with little time to plan, we thought it would be such a cute idea to create a patriotic candy buffet for a special sweet treat. You never know, it could become a yearly tradition! We love this idea because it’s fairly easy to put together, can be used in or outdoors, and makes a cute party favor if you want to be able to send people home with a special something.
The original idea came to be when we thought about watching fireworks. Fireworks are always better with something sweet to munch on. Setting up a candy buffet with cellophane bags and scoops for each candy makes it easy for everyone in the family to make their own bag of candy to take to the fireworks. We also love this for BBQ set ups, the table at the end of a race, pre-parade snack, etc. Kids especially are going to LOVE this so if you have a lot of children in your family, you are going to be their new favorite person of all time.
How To Set Up your 4th of July Candy Bar:
Designate a card table or small buffet area for candy alone so that it isn’t slowing down any plate filling if you’re also doing a BBQ.
Make sure you have a container (small bowl or jar) for each kind of candy you’ll be offering. Small bowls with tongs or scoops are great for little candies like sweedish fish, gumballs, sour ropes, etc. Taller jars are cups are great for redvines, suckers, and rock candy sticks.
Don’t forget the tongs and scoops so hands aren’t touching the candy.
Keep individual cellophane bags or boxes at the beginning of the candy buffet.
Create levels and decorate! Mix up containers or add books under different jars to create levels and depth to your buffet. Decorate with cute twinkle lights, star confetti, a vase with flowers and flags, etc. Make it picture perfect!
Voila!
