5 Ways To Celebrate Spring Break At Home

5 Ways To Celebrate Spring Break At Home

Believe it or not, spring break is fast approaching and because COVID-19 is throwing a wrench in everything (as it does), we decided we wanted to jot down a few ideas for all of us to do at home with our kids if we’ll be staying in this spring.  Spring Break doesn’t have to be a total downer this year if you plan one or two activities that will bring your family together to do something new and fun together.

If you try any of these ideas, make sure you tag us on IG @lifeofasister so that we can virtually join you!  We love to see it!

A Taco Tour

Craving a trip south of the border?  We are big big fans of chips and salsa around here and we also know how important it is to support local businesses during a global pandemic so to our part and satisfy those spicy cravings, we think it would be so fun to have your own Taco Tour!  You can combine this tour into one evening or spread it out over the week, but choose the top 5 or your 5 favorite taco restaurants nearby and order a taco or two at each.  Do a family taste test! Everyone can rate the taco and consider themselves a food critic for the day, and at the end, the restaurant that gets the highest ratings from everyone in the family wins!  Grab a gift card to that restaurant and use it when you have special occasions or reward meals for the family.

Yard Games

Not to brag, but spring weather in Las Vegas is pretty dang great.  We love a game no matter what but now there are so many fun yard games that we think would make such a fun spring break activity!  Dust off your croquet set, grab yourself a Spikeball set if you haven’t already, or try these lifesize jenga sets that look SO cool and have yourself an outdoor game night or day.

Teach Them How To Golf

A great socially different sport to play and perfect this spring is golf.  Whether your littles are old enough to mini golf or head to the driving range or golf a full 18 holes, we think it would be such a bonding experience to start to teach them the basics of golf.  Now, we’re not saying we know what those basics are but hey, we can all learn together right?!  Watch a few YouTube videos or have your more experienced hubby teach you all the ropes of putting, stance, a proper swing, etc.  If your family loves it, it would make such a cool activity to do together throughout the years.

Ice Cream Sundae Bar

I mean, who wouldn’t love this idea?  Create your own cruise ship esque ice cream bar with all the toppings, you can even have littles decide on their favorite topping they want to make sure is included.  Lay it all out and you can even make it cute by labeling different toppings or making signature “sundaes” with family names on a menu.  Combine this with a movie night and you have yourself a winning combo right there, folks.

DIY Pedicures

This wouldn’t be a Life Of A Sister list without a little girly-girl activity.  We love a pamper session and how fun would it be to set up an at-home spa with DIY pedicures.  Don’t forget the pumice stones, hot water, essential oils, yummy smelling scrubs, and if you have an at-home Gel Kit like this one, your pedicure will last for weeks!
