Why Every Mom Needs a "Diet Coke" at the end of the Day

My husband is on a little guys trip right now, which may have been the inspiration for this post! Every mom is thinking it, but may not say it. Don't get me wrong, I would not change my life for anything, I am the luckiest in the world. However a day in the life of a mom is no easy task. By the end of the day I can't wait to sit on the couch and do...NOTHING!

My day starts with my 4-year old crawling into my bed and us cuddling and hanging out for the next half hour. He then insists on going downstairs to eat breakfast, within an hour of him waking up Lux wakes up and joins us for breakfast. While boys do their thing, I clean up the downstairs, then clean it up again after they have made another mess in the family room.

I insist they come upstairs, take everything sitting on the stairs up with me, put that away and tackle them into the tub. This is my moment for 20 minutes! I make my bed, straighten the upstairs, pick out the boys clothes, and if I'm lucky vacuum! I then dress them and do their hair, and let them have screen time while I jump in the shower for a quick rinse...before my 2 year old starts pounding on the shower door.

I then quickly jump out and get dressed, and take boys downstairs for lunch. From here day to day can be different. But I can assure you that it always consists of bribing kids to get in their car seats to chasing them at the grocery store or cleaning up a mess or two.

Before you know it it's dinner time. Make, eat, clean up. Oh and I work sometime in their as well! Then baths again...because my children some how manage to be filthy by the end of the day. Then pajamas, books, prayers and kisses.

From that moment till Parks walks in the next morning is quiet, relaxing, important and always includes a treat and a "Diet Coke." The funniest part about this whole thing is, I can't wait for him to come in the next morning, and without fail I go into both my boys rooms every night before I go to bed, kiss them again and watch them sleep for a little bit, it reminds me why I do what I do.

I love being a mom more than anything in the world and can't wait to bring another little boy into this world.

Cheers to all you hard working mom out there...and know you are not alone! Have a Diet Coke or whatever your preferred beverage is on me! :)

XoXo,

Kenzi
